Nathalie Jolivert is a Haitian artist and architectural designer whose work revolves around storytelling, community involvement, and cultural preservation. She is currently working on residential design projects in Brooklyn, NY and leading an interdisciplinary art project that will be exhibited at Barnard College’s Louise McCagg Gallery in the Spring of 2020. Nathalie graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in 2012 with a Bachelor of Architecture and Fine Arts. During her years at RISD, she won the Gensler National Diversity Award in 2011 for an eco-tourism project for the indigenous Wayuu tribe of La Guajira in Colombia. Her degree project on the architectural preservation of Le Manoir Alexandra, an early 20th century mansion in Haiti, also received a RISD research grant in 2012. The history and preservation of Le Manoir Alexandra remains one of the primary sources of inspiration for her upcoming show at the Louise McCagg Gallery.
